It depends: On when the stump neuroma was removed. Please give more info. You can ice the area, and take an otc anti-inflammatory if able (ibuprofen, naproxen). You also should clarify what you mean by "instep." this term typically refers to the top of the midfoot, but i suspect you may mean the "arch area on the bottom of the foot?" sorry, wish i could help more...I'll look for your question to re-post.
