Stump neuroma: If the neuroma has not been removed, than this may be a return of the neuroma. If the neuroma was removed surgically, than you may have developed a stump neuroma, which is an irritation of the previous nerve that will act like a regular neuroma. See your podiatrist for treatment and evaluation of this condition.

Other causes: Other possible causes include stress fracture, capsulitis (inflamed joint complex), loss of fat pad which occurs with age and can cause forefoot pain, among others. I have seen all of the above cause your symptoms after surgery. It is best to see your podiatrist or orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon.
