Gingivitis: Bleeding when brushing is usually from gingivitis. Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums caused by bacteria. Effective brushing and flossing should reduce the gingivitis. Brush your gums as well as your teeth. This should remove the plaque and the gum line.
