I have a pressure ulcer on my foot, and its been infected for a week, my dr put me on bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) when it started. what are the side effects?

Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) not helpful: I doubt that Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) will help a pressure ulcer. Are you diabetic? In any event, have your doctor refer you to a wound clinic.

Allergic: Response and compared to most antibiotics a higher risk of stevens johnson syndrome.....Very rare most risk is non response of infection due to poor blood supply.
