Myopia: Is caused by a longer than normal eye. The ciliary muscles have no bearing on it. The inability to focus the eyes at near when wearing distance glasses is called presbyopia. It is caused by a stiff lens that does not change shape. It is the ciliary muscles that work on the lens. The lens becomes stiff with aging.
