Meditation: Mindfulness or vipassana meditation are practices that anyone can learn. They require no special equipment. They are awareness practices and can fit with any religious background, even though they have their roots in buddhist tradition. They allow you to use different focuses of attention -- breath, body sensation, emotions, etc. There is also transcendental meditation, which uses mantras.
