Aspirin toxicity: Serious Aspirin overdose that is life-threatening usually kills within the first 48 hours. It is highly unlikely the patient would be alive and stable at 48 hours. Elevated Aspirin levels can be seen at 48 hours but would more likely be associated with chronic Aspirin toxicity which is treated by stopping the aspirin. The level is graphed by time from ingestion on an Aspirin toxicity chart.
