See an eye doctor: Floaters are a common occurence, as the gel that fills the back of the eye naturally liquifies and breaks into smaller pieces (floaters are the shadows of these pieces that you see). Any eye doctor can perform a dilated eye examination to evaluate whether you have normal floaters or if they represent other conditions. If you have new floaters, see an eye doctor as soon as possible.

Specialist: Most floaters are benign but a few can be a hallmark of retinal problems such as a detachment. This needs treatment quickly and if you have new onset floaters, especially when accompanied by light flashing or diminished vsion, then you should immediately get to an ophthalmologist. Your family doctor would refer you right away in any case.
