Yes: It can be very effective.

Not for me: I do not use this medication as it does not relax muscles. It simply creates a sedative effect and can cause amnesia. There is no anti-inflammatory effect or any preventative chemistry with this medicine. So i say no it is not helpful. Nsaid's, tylenol, (acetaminophen) ice/heat, capsaicin, are certainly helpful and will not interfere with driving/work. Mckenzie pt is also very effective. Narcotics for short term.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl)'s mechanism of action is not well understood, but we know it works centrally at the brain and not the muscles. Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) may help you rest, but will not solve the underlying problem if the back pain is chronic. Depending on the underlying pathology of the pain, pt and core exercise is the best remedy.
