Sleep meds: Chronically taking Ativan is not a good idea. If you are already on ativan, adding Ambien (zolpidem) for sleep is duplicating a medication. Also if you are taking Ativan during the day you should not be driving. This is the equivalent of dui, with all of its risks and rewards.

INSOMNIA: If you are really 7 years old then you need to see a Pediatrician, a Pediatric Psychologist & Psychiatrist. Have a physical exam to rule out illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to help you with ZOOM. Research indicates with psychotherapy you can change & find better coping mechanisms & a Psychiatrist for medication better than Ambien & a possible sleep study.
