Can you wait?: The vaccine is ok, but following major surgery your immune response to it is suppressed for a while. If you could wait a month the vaccine might work better. Vaccines could also be given before surgery but it seems that ship has sailed in your case. Is there a rush to get the shot now or can it wait? Check with your internal medicine doctor.
