Variably: Numbness is normal over the breast after surgery and gradually improves over time, typically months. Nipple numbness is rare afterwards but can be permanent.

Usually Months.: Although breast reduction surgery tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations performed, it is associated with risk such as numbness and/or permanent loss of sensation. Numbness usually lasts for a few months/year but may be permanent. These complications are rare but should be considered. Best wishes.

Numbness BR: The nipples and some areas of the skin may be numb or sensitive after surgery. Sensation may return within a few weeks or months, but may be diminished or overly sensitive. Numbness of the areola and nipple may be permanent.
