It depends: You can be completely a symptomatic with a chiari malformation symptoms can vary and the decision to repair this surgically is completely dependent on what your are neurologically consulta neurosurgeon or a neurologist and discuss your option. If you are not troubled by this developmental malformation you will be advised to do nothing.
