Need medical eval.: The use of Lasix (furosemide) in dilated cardiomyopathy can be quite helpful to manage the fluid overload component of the cardiomyopathy. If a patient is quite weak, medical evaluation is required to ensure that blood pressure is appropriate, as well as kidney function and electrolytes. There may be other medical issues causing the weakness.

Cardiomyopathy: Diuretics are one of the medications used to treat patients with cardiomyopathy. If there are electrolyte disturbances and or hypotension these issues must be addressed and treated right away. Changes in medications may need to be done. Often it requires hospitalization and close treatment and observation.
