A member asked:

A patient who is taking furosemide at 0800 and 1500, bp is low (90/48), do u hold his regular dose of furosemide?

Depends: If this is normal BP for the pt and they do not feel poorly might consider continuing. Otherwise it would be reasonable to hold a dose.

If dehydrated: Furosemide is a diuretic which is used for treating heart failure or other fluid overload conditions. Blood pressure can be low if someone is dehydrated. Low blood pressure can also be due to other medications or due to underlying medical condition.

Furosemide: Need more details including the reason the patient is taking the Furosemide and list of other medications. This question needs to go to his prescribing physician.
