See below: Hives can be caused by anything under the sun (including the sun - solar hives). Therefore, determining the cause is very difficult. By definition, chronic hives is defined as occurring after 6 weeks of daily symptoms, but i refer at 3 weeks to dermatology or allergy. I would see you doc for an evaluation and possible referral.
