Penicillin allergy: Cephalexin can cause any type of drug allergy symptoms like anaphylaxis, angioedema, steven johnson syndrome, bone marrow suppression, hepatitis but heart problems do not seem to be listed as an side effect. About 90% of patient with reported penicillin allergy during childhood can tolerate penicillin. If there is a true penicillin allergy, there is a 2% risk of having Cephalexin allergy.
