In stool, can blood present itself as little solid pieces, or is it always a sticky or liquid consistency?

Varies: This can vary with the site of bleeding. If from upper GI tract may simply present as black stools, if from terminal portions of colon may be bright red blood. If in between, almost any type of presentation may occur, including clots which can appear similar to what you have described.
