Bones OK, Not tissue: The x-ray exam showed no fracture or dislocation. However you may well have significant soft tissue injury that will not show up on a plain x-ray. Mri is frequently done for evaluation of these injuries which can be just as, if not more, serious than fractures and may require operative repair. Get seen by an orthopedic surgeon, hopefully with sports medicine expertise.

Ankle Sprain: I may be a severe sprain or pain from soft tissue damage. Try resting it (for 1-2 weeks), icing, compressing wraps or bracing, and elevating your ankle. Take otc antiinflammatory drugs like advil (ibuprofen) or Motrin as directed by the manufacturer to help. If clicking or feeling of ripping or instability continues, get it checked out. Hope this was helpful.
