Get to a podiatrist.: Sometimes it takes a few days for a fracture to reveal itself on x-ray. That's why most emergency rooms advise you to follow up with a physician in a few days after being seen. Get to a podiatrist and have x-rays repeated to determine if fractured or a severe sprain and follow up with proper care.

Ankle injury: That's ridiculous. Severe ligament damage can be as bad as a fracture. See a podiatrist to assess the real damage. An injury that causes severe swelling and pain after a week in a teenager is not a minor ankle injury and a specialist should be seen.

See foot: Specialist. A fracture often won't show up for 2 weeks on x-ray if its a stress fracture. Also, you likely have ligament damage and need to be checked.
