Can grinding your teeth at night really cause ear problems or hearing loss?

I haven't seen: Any such cases personally but have seen it reported in the literature in most extreme long term non-treated cases. Very rare no doubt. Hope this helps. If you grind, please consult your dentist.

Grinding deaf: Not only can severe grinding damage teeth and result in tooth loss, it can also affect your jaws, result in hearing loss, cause or worsen tmd/tmj, and even change the appearance of your face.

Teeth grinding : Grinding your teeth during the night can cause pain in the jaw and by your ears and headaches. It will interrupt your sleep. Your teeth can be damaged also. See a dentist for evaluation and treatment

Grinding: Grinding teeth while you sleep (Nocturnal Bruxism) can cause excessive tooth wear and fractures, sore muscles, change in jaw shape where muscles attach, alteration in sleep patters, inflamed jaw joints, jaw joint disc displacement, and in rare cases alteration in hearing, radiation of pain to adjacent tissues, and other symptoms. Your Dentist can make a night guard for you to reduce symptoms.

Brusism: bruxism does not cause hearing loss - it's a joint problem, not an ear problem - but agree with all the other doctor's great advice
