Depends: Sometimes "sinus infection" is actually just the common cold, which is managed symptomatically with decongestants and analgesics. A true sinus infection is diagnosed by having sinus tenderness/pain and purulent nasal discharge of ten days duration. This is often treated with antibiotics in addition to symptomatic care.
