Take care of it: Your broken tooth is irritating your gum see your dentist to fix the problem you can't go around with a broken tooth as it can create many other problems.

See your dentist: And they very well will refer you to an oral surgeon to have the tooth removed - sounds like it is not restorable - broken at gum line for some time and gingiva partially covering, now opening up again.

Get diagnosed: See your dentist asap. You could have a periodontal and/or endodontic problem w possible infection. An x-ray and proper diagnosis will determine if the tooth is salvageable. Don't neglect the need for professional care. In the interrim, take an anti-inflammatory to help, like advil (ibuprofen).
