No: The component of the vaccines given to prevent tetanus is a toxoid. This is a non-living, chemically altered form of the toxin that clostridium tetanae releases to produce the illness. This altered material can not produce the disease, but does allow the body to develop anti-toxin antibodies that will prevent tetanus.
