Sores on tongue: There are several possibilities for sores on the tongue. The most common are aphthous ulcers, canker sores, or herpes simplex viral infection ( herpetic gingivostomatitis). Other possibilities are lichen planus, oral thrush, HIV infection, cancer. If you have sores that have not healed within 7-10 days, you should have them examined and possibly biopsied as soon as possible.

If I am guessing: Your question correctly, do you mean you have always had the appearance of "ulcer-like sores" on your tongue, but they are indeed not and not symptomatic? A more common entity that comes to mind is benign migratory glossitis aka geographic tongue. If i misunderstood your question and these are newly appearing, then you should have this evaluated.
