Unrelated: Your cough and what is probably gingivitis are unrelated. You should see a dentist for an exam to determine what treatment you need to make your gums healthy again. See a physician if your cough persists.

A good question: That requires you seeing both a dentist and a physician. You didn't mention how long you had both symptoms. The two may or may not be related. There are too many possibilities to attempt to give you any reasonable explanation in the limited space we have to answer. Besides, we can't actually diagnose you or more importantly treat you over the internet. Make some appointments today.
