A member asked:

Are there any permanent remedies for thyroid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Upon what the thyroid problem is. Generally, there are treatments which must be continued long term. Some times an overactive thyroid can be cured and no subsequent medication required. A thyroid nodule may be found to be benign and no subsequent treatment required. Thyroid inflammation may occur and resolve spontaneously with no permanent damage. Most other disorders require long term treatment.
