Not exactly: Tinnitus [ringing in the ears] is often due to damage to cells in a part of the inner ear and can be caused by normal aging, loud noise, certain medications [including some antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, painkillers], or head or neck injuries. The focus for treatment is finding approaches that help you notice it less, many of which can be very effective! see an ENT or audiologist for help!
