Yes: Nobody really knows what lupus is and it's diagnosed by criteria -- get a certain number and you can make the call. The real question is, "do we want to treat this? If so, how?" i believe in "semi-lupus", an entity often ana-positive and with some other lupus signs but never quite sufficient to make the call -- it tends to remit. Stay proactive & get a 2nd opinion as you think best.

Had lower back pain since 2018, I have done MRI's, Physical Therapy, EMG, etc. All normal. ANA was tested to rule out Lupus, the ratio came back borderline, ~6 months later with the worse pain, my test is negative. Why? Could it still be Autoimmune?
