A member asked:

Blood test result- ana by eia=negative. is this reassuring as far as lupus or other autoimmune problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mostly: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your tests are reassuring but do not 100% exclude autoimmune disorders as there are may such disorders that occur without ANA.
