Why do i have 2 ankle bones?

Your normal: Your ankle is made up of 3 bones, the tibia (your leg bone on the inside), your fibula (your leg bone on the outside), and your talus (your ankle bone on the foot). The fibula only takes 12% of your weight, from your leg.

Normal: Agree with dr. Timko. The ankle is a joint made up of 3 bones (tibia, fibula, and talus) and it has multiple bones to allow motion in the joint. It's designed to maximize up and down motion with stability.
