Yes is GERD: Most probably the symptoms worse at night while lying down and you may wake up coughing. Need to identify food that worse symptoms. Common ones: coffee, sodas, acid fruits and juices, smoking, tomatoes, spice foods etc. Go to reflux.Org; avoid large meal specially before going to bed. Loose weigh if overweight; do not drink; avoid tight cloths. If continue with symptoms see your doctor.

GERD: Best to discuss this with an ENT Doctor who will study your medical history. "The root cause of laryngopharyngeal reflux is often gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. This disease occurs in both adults and children. Irritating acidic juices back up from the stomach into the esophagus and throat."
