Goiter: An enlarged thyroid gland is called a goiter. Symptoms can be related to overactive thyroid function or underactive. Overactive symptoms include shakiness, palpitations, diarrhea, sweats, nervousness. Underactive symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, constipation, coarse hair and skin. If your gland is enlarged you should see your doctor.
