i have a pain along the left vein in my neck for 4 days now with out increase in pain. it feels similar to swollen gland and i have no other symptoms.

Neck pain: Pain in that area could be from a muscle strain, inflamed thyroid or lymph gland, or inflammation of the carotid artery. I don't think it's related to a neck vein. If the discomfort persists, get examined by your physician.
