Help! exactly what is reflux and what are the symptoms?

What is reflux?: Reflux causes heartburn, a burning discomfort in the chest immediately after eating and at night while laying flat to sleep. It's caused usually by a hiatal hernia, a structural anomaly where the esophagus meets the stomach.
