Kidney injury: Reflux nephropathy describes kidney function deterioration due to urine washing bac up to the kidney during urination (reflux) - this is almost always due to associated infection or series of infections in childhood although this is somewhat controversial. Reflux is a condition you are born with and cannot catch.
