See a Podiatrist: Corns are due to irritation over a bony prominence . Have the toe examined by a podiatrist who can address the bony enlargement.

Corn: A corn looks like a skin problem. It is really a hammertoe representing a contracted toe. The contracted toe causes the bone inside the toe to rub against the skin from the inside and then pushes the skin against the shoe. That combination creates a corn. You need to have your toe examined by a podiatrist. He or she can order x-rays of your foot to determine the position of the bone and advise you of what needs to be done to fix it.

Corn: Caused likely by hammertoe or bone spur. There are many conservative treatments but only way to rid yourself of the corn is addressing the underlying problem. Usually ends up with surgical correction.
