Verifi test: One reason people dont use it is the expense. It runs about two thousand dollars and is not covered by insurance.

Expensive: For those who don't know, this test finds fetal dna free floating in the mother's blood and can rule out Down syndrome and other aneuploidies. It can also look at the sex chromosomes to tell gender and rule out turners, etc. It's expensive and there is also a fairly high rate of false positives (about 1%), meaning the test says the fetus is abnormal, but it's really normal.
