If family members...: Have a child, they may have something hidden in their genetic code that might reveal itself in the new baby. It could be something barely noticeable or it might be something major and severe. The closer the relative (sister, first cousin etc.) the more likely a big problem is to turn up. This is why doing this is not recommended. I don't know that genetic testing will be of any help.

See below: Blood type is not needed to detect problems with conception and/or future health of child. Close family members should not get married as to avoid the increased chance of genetic abnormalities. Genetic testing can help rule out problems with two people.
