Response prevention: A behavioral technique called response prevention is effective in treating many compulsions. Obsessions are often reduced by desensitization. Talking about your obsessive thoughts over and over again. In response prevention, you're placed is a situation which leads to your compulsive behavior, but you're not allowed to perform the behavior. Often, another person can be helpful. See a psychologist.
