Yes it is normal: All surgeries heal with some scar tissue the big ? Is how much and how "friendly" it will be generally speaking it is not so much the scar tissue in the knee causing problems as it is other things going bad and causing problems such as progression of degenerative process some people recover very rapidly form surg and others do not occasionally it is apparent as to why this is so others not.
