Limit use: Over use of a topical steroid such as clobetasol can lead to thinning of the skin and other side effects. It can also lead to tachyphylaxis, in which the medication stops working. Using clobetasol with a vit. D analogue such as calcipotriene is better. Once the psoriasis improves, the calcipotriene can used on weekdays and the clobetasol on weekends to minimize side effects & prevent tachyphylaxis.
