How long does the angioplasty take?

Variable: But on average, about an hour. It depends on how many vessels are involved and how technically easy or difficult it is to approach them. In the setting of an on-going heart attack, that time is often shaved considerably since time is of the essence.

It depends: It depends on the number of vessels treated, number of stents that need to be deployed and their localization in the artery (high risk vs. Low risk), amount of calcium or blood clot on the artery that may need to be removed, etc. It could be anywhere between 1-3 hours.
