Conservative care: Generally you will start with conservative treatment such as physical therapy (including strengthening and stretching) and anti-inflammatory medications. Subsequently, spinal injections and possibly surgery are also options. If you've had pain for 2 years and have had some treatment, an MRI should be considered. See a physician if your symptoms continue to persist, or if they worsen.
