Local anesthetics,: Depending on which one was used and whether a vasoconstrictor was included, as well as the amount given, can have a wide range of anesthesia times. Some can dissipate after only 30 minutes, while others can last 10-12 hours.

Yes: The local anesthetic placed in your upper lip can spread to affect other nerves in the area. Often the local anesthetics can last several hours. The symptoms should slowly resolve after a few hours, if not please get in touch with your dentist.
