MRI needed: While there are some benign reasons for developing a numb area, you really need a formal neurological exam and probably an mri.

What happened: What happened before you had this sensation. Did you fall on the back if your head? Did this feeling of loss of sensation come out of the blue? You should get a neurological evaluation and good luck.

MAYBE YOU HAVE: A problem with the left greater occipital nerve of arnold, but usually the area is painful, almost neuralgic. Could be that nerve was traumatized at base of skull. Perhaps some x-rays will reveal answers. Agree with visit to neurologist.
