Depends: It works very well for women who dont ovulate, provided the ovaries still work well. If the brain communication is not working well or if the ovaries are closer to menopause then the medicine is not likely to cause ovulation. In young women with unexplained infertility Clomid (clomiphene) and IUI has been shown to be effective. So there is a difference between ovulation and pregnancy.
