Qtips in ear: The biggest problem with q-tips is just what you have described. People put them waaaaaaay too far down the ear canal. If you caused any injury to your ear drum, you would have noticed a problem right away, so it doesn't appear likely at this point. If you advanced some of the wax that you were trying to remove, it may end up getting stuck, but this would only cause a temporary hearing decrease.

Unlikely: Unlikely. But if you do push too far, you can damage the lining of the ear canal, or worse, rupture the ear drum. If you have any symptoms of ear pain, bleeding, decreased hearing, or dizziness, see ENT doc ASAP.
