What can i do for my painful gums without going to a doctor?

Gingivitis?: Painful gums can be caused by many things, the most common being gingivitis. Assuming one is brushing and flossing daily, and possibly rinsing with listerine, then one should go see one's dentist because if this is allowed to progress without treatment, one could lose their teeth and spend much more time at the dentist than had they just gotten this treated early on.

Mouthwash: Use listerine diluted 50-50 with water. The listerine is too strong as it comes from the bottle, and can cause the problem you describe.

Mouthwash +: Agree with recommendation for dilute listerine or other similar mouthwash. In addition, continue to floss thoroughly and brush twice daily.
