A few thoughts..: There may be a residual root, a sharp edge of bone, a small infection, or it may be due to something completely unrelated. It is for that reason that you need to be evaluated by your oral surgeon to see if it is related to the extraction or not.

Not normal: If you have swelling around the cheek for 1 month, do not hesitate to call the office and discuss your concerns with the oral surgeon who performed your surgery. Do not delay.
